The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip mounted to 40,074, the health authorities in the besieged Palestinian enclave said on Saturday.

A total of 92,537 people had been wounded in Gaza since the latest round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out on October 7, 2023, the health authorities said in a statement.

Over the past 48 hours, Israeli military operations in the enclave resulted in 69 deaths and 136 injuries, according to the statement.

At least six people, including two children, were killed and many others were injured on Saturday in the airstrikes launched by Israel on a house near the Nusayret refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

The injured have been sent to hospital for treatment.

Israeli warplanes also bombed a tent camp for displaced people in the town of Zawaida in central Gaza in the early hours of the same day, killing at least 15 people and wounding dozens more.

The Israeli army also carried out three strikes near the southern entrance to the town of Zawaida, according to local sources.
