STORYLINE:

The Huaneng Pakistan Vocational and Technical College established by Sahiwal coal-fired power plant is a flagship project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in eastern Sahiwal district of Pakistan.

With an investment of 26 million yuan (3.6 million U.S. dollars), the project has been helping the younger generation to improve employment skills and broaden career paths.

"I started out as an inspector. Through continuous learning and with the help of Chinese colleagues, my professional skills have been greatly improved. Now I am a fuel professional engineer. The salary has also increased a lot with my promotion."

"This initiative of our company, that we prepared the training for the interns is for a couple of years. And I also give the training here for the fire safety, and also some other engineers also with the training that is related to their specialties. It is really very helpful for them for two things. One, it gives them the opportunity of job, and second, it gives them the skill."
