Footage shows the brown canine braving persistent light rain, which began in the morning, waiting outside the home of another dog named Heixiong, a small black female canine in Xi'an, Shaanxi, on September 11.

Despite getting soaked, the visiting friend stayed seated upright at the doorstep, refusing to leave.

When Heixiong's owner noticed the devoted visitor, she let Heixiong out.

At first, the reunion was slightly awkward, but the dogs soon restarted their playful antics.

The filmer said that Heixiong had been sulking in her den, and the dog's presence in the rain seemed to be a sincere gesture of apology, leading to Heixiong forgiving her friend.
