Mum 'stabbed to death by son' in knife horror that left two fighting for life
A mother has been 'stabbed to death by her own son' in a horror knife attack that also left his sister and father fighting for their lives, it was claimed today (Mon).
Three forensic tents have been erected after the rampage in Barnard Road in Gorton, a suburb of Manchester.
Police said a woman, 43, has died from her injuries while a 64-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were today (Mon) in hospital in a critical condtion.
A man, 22, has been held on suspicion of murder and is to be quizzed by detectives.
Police confirmed early indication "suggests the suspect was known to the victims" and it was being treated as an isolated incident."
A horrified bystander, who was on the street at 11.30pm, said she saw the parents with 'cut up' stomachs outside the property.
She then saw their daughter stagger out of the home with her "intestines hanging out"."
The stunned witness then claims the suspect was heard yelling from the door: "It's ok, leave them, it's just an experiment."
The onlooker, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "We saw the man and woman from next door in the street, and then you could see the girl come out."
"You could see all her intestines hanging out of her belly, and she fell on the floor. The mum and dad then fell on the floor. "
"The neighbours over the road were out, and then the son came out. Nobody sort of caught on until they saw the girl, who was his sister."
"And he shouted, ‘It's ok, leave them, it's just an experiment.' But they were literally all cut up, all three of them across the stomachs."
"It looked like a scene from a horror film, absolutely. Her intestines were hanging out of her stomach, all these things hanging out."
"He must have used a knife or something, but they were just all cut up. It was horrendous. Everyone was out in the street, on their phones."
"It happened so fast... You'd think you would have heard loads of screaming from the house for him to have done it to three different people."
The force said it was called at around 11.20pm on Sunday night to reports of a stabbing in the street.
Armed police officers rushed to the scene and found the three victims with serious stab wounds.
The suspect was arrested at the scene 'within minutes', the force said.
A spokesman added: "Sadly, the woman in her 40s sadly passed away from her injuries at the scene. "
"The two others remain in hospital for treatment to injuries believed to be life-threatening at this time."
"A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into custody ahead of being interviewed by detectives."
A cordon remained in place today as forensic scientists were seen combing the area for clues and a shocked street tried to come to terms with the horrific incident.
Detective Superintendent Toby Facey said: "We understand that the local community and further afield across Greater Manchester will be rightly shocked and concerned after waking up and hearing this tragic news this morning."
"Our thoughts remain with those affected and their loved ones at this difficult time. We are doing all we can to support them."
"Within minutes of the call being made, our officers were at the scene and an arrest had been made."
"An investigation has been launched and we are in the very early stages of our enquiries. "
"We have had detectives on the ground who have been working throughout the night trying to get to the bottom of what has happened and why."
DS Facey said visible patrols has been increased in the area and appealed for anything with information to come forward.
He said he was particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the surrounding area at around 11pm.
