Stomach-churning photos show a couple's home full of dead rats after they were invaded by vermin and forced to flee to a hotel.

Andy Roberts, 56, and Rosie Glazzard, 53, have now been stuck in a Travelodge for three weeks after the rats took over their property in Kempsey, Worcs.

The couple told previously how their lives for being made a misery by the ravenous rodents which were biting their toes as they slept and even swimming in their loo.

They moved out of their home of 30 years to be put up in a hotel while Platform Housing Group, which manages the house, promised to investigate.

But more than three weeks on, they say nothing has been done while their property has been left a house of horrors covered in dead and decaying rats.

Shocking images show the animal's bodies throughout the property as well as their belongings strewn on the ground where they have been knocked off shelves by rats.

Family friend Jan Jarvis, who has been checking on the house, said the pair have been left "in limbo" and unsure if they can ever go back to their home."

She said: "I found one rat dead in the hallway. The bath is half full of water because a rat has blocked the plug hole. When I went in I felt sick. "

"It is different to anything else I have smelled. It's a bad smell."

"My concern is Rosie and Andy have somewhere to stay. They haven't been told when they can leave Travelodge . They don't know what's happening. "

"They're absolutely in limbo."

They don't know whether they're going to be able to live there.

"They're very worried and nothing has happened in three weeks. They are still in the same position."

It is understood pest controllers have put down more poison in the maisonette in Bannut Hill after previous, unsuccessful attempts to exterminate the rats.

Both have been bitten by the rats - Andy on his big toe and Rosie three times, including on her toes and bottom since they reported the infestation in June.

So far the rats have chewed through wires to the freezer, gnawed holes in the floorboards and the sofas, left mountains of droppings underneath the bath.

The couple's kitchen has also been taken over with teeth and claw marks on food tins where the rats tried to open them.

And disturbing footage, filmed before they left, shows one rat swimming in the couple's toilet.

Rosie, who suffers with mental health issues, says she has been repeatedly attacked by the rats.

She said: "I've been bitten three times. I was bitten on the bum and bitten on the toe the night before."

Andy added: "When Rosie was asleep there was a rat on the back of the settee. It was there for a few seconds, looking at me."

"I could not believe my eyes when I saw one in the toilet bowl. "

"I felt a bit sick. It was a baby rat. Our neighbour Jan came out and killed it. I didn't have the nerve to do it."

"We just don't seem to be getting nothing done quickly enough to get rid of the rats." "

Marion Duffy, Chief Operations Officer at Platform Housing Group said: "We are in the process of carrying out the works required following investigations into the cause of the problem. "

"We continue to support our customers during the works."
