STORYLINE:

Bangladesh's textile and garment factories are gradually resuming operations after the South Asian country experienced political turmoil in early August.

The garment industry is a pillar of the national economy, accounting for 85 percent of Bangladesh's total export trade in 2023. The country is also a key part of the global apparel supply chain, having exported approximately 47 billion U.S. dollars worth of garments last year.

"We produce various items, including polo shirts, jackets, boxers, and T-shirts. We produce these sorts of items. We mainly import all raw materials from China. After the change of government, the situation in Bangladesh was a little problematic, but now the situation is good."
