A tourist was rescued after a dangerous slip into a lake while taking photos in northwestern China.

The video was filmed in Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province on August 20.

A tourist slipped into the Jade Lake at the Da Qaidam Scenic Area. Fortunately, quick actions from both the tourist's companions and the park staff led to a successful rescue, preventing a potential tragedy.

Eyewitnesses reported that the tourist, who was taking photos at the lake’s edge, accidentally fell into the water. The complex terrain and the lake’s surface characteristics pose safety risks for visitors.

Thankfully, the tourist's companions acted immediately, and with the help of park staff and rescue equipment such as life rings, they managed to pull the tourist out of the lake.

According to park authorities, the depth of the water where the incident occurred ranged from 30 to 70 centimetres. Despite the shallow depth, the tourist's panic could have hindered their escape.

After the rescue, staff provided the tourist with a thorough wash and check-up, confirming no serious injuries.
