USA: Sylmar CHP Officer Struck by Vehicle on Golden State Freeway

08/18/2024 03:36 am (GMT-0700) | SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES – A California Highway Patrol officer was struck by a vehicle on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway at the 14 connector early Sunday morning.
Per CHP information, a Tesla model Y struck the rear of the officer's vehicle, striking the officer who was assisting a disabled vehicle.
The officer sustained severe lacerations and was later transported by ambulance to a local hospital in unknown condition.
CHP requested to shut down all traffic lanes and use the truck route lanes.
A hard closure was requested for an unknown duration.
