Drowning Chinese boy rescued after man spots him while filming underwater and shouts for help
A drowning boy was rescued after a man filming underwater spotted him and shouted for help in eastern China.
The video was filmed in Huangshan City in Anhui Province on August 18.
Lacking strong swimming skills himself, Mr Wu knew he couldn’t dive in to save the child directly. However, he acted quickly, shouting for help to alert those nearby.
His calls were soon heard by other visitors and staff in the vicinity, who rushed to the scene. Together, they managed to pull the boy out of the water, averting what could have been a tragic incident. Thanks to their swift action, the boy's condition stabilised after the rescue.
Reflecting on the incident, Mr Wu shared that he had only intended to capture the beauty of the scenery but ended up witnessing a life-saving rescue. He expressed his relief at having raised the alarm in time, acknowledging that the outcome could have been far worse.
