British tourists had a hilarious night out swapping bars for bins - helping trash collectors load rubbish into their trucks.

The five holidaymakers rode on the back of a dustbin lorry to assist locals with garbage collection on the island of Koh Samui in Surat Thani province on August 19 evening.

Footage shows the merry visitors lending a hand to the workers, loading rubbish bags onto the vehicle.

They would take the bags lining the edge of the road to put into the vehicle before climbing again to take more from the next block.

Onlooker Jiraporn Massawang said: ‘I happened to drive by and took a video. I asked them, do you know where the car is going next? They said they didn't know but wanted to help because we love Thailand.'
