The incident took place at Masjid Circle, Kalyanadurg town, Anantapur district on August 21.
Visuals showed a man smoking a cigarette near a shop and as soon as he carelessly flicked the matchstick onto the ground, a sudden and fierce fire erupted. The flames quickly spread, even engulfing a nearby parked motorcycle. People rushed to save the bike, managing to pull it away just in time.
Within moments, the scene turned chaotic, with smoke billowing and panicked bystanders trying to control the situation. The atmosphere was tense and filled with shouts as the fire continued to grow. A few minutes later, a fire tender team arrived, working swiftly to bring the flames under control. The chaos began to settle, but the area remained tense as people gathered around, witnessing the aftermath of the incident.
A significant accident was averted in Kalyandurg town, Anantapur district after a fire broke out near a petrol station at Masjid Circle. The incident occurred when a man, who had just filled 20 liters of petrol into a can at the station, unknowingly placed the can with a hole beside his bike and went to purchase medicine from a nearby shop.
Unaware of the leaking petrol, the man left his bike and the can unattended.
