India: Mumbai helicopter flying to Hyderabad crashes in Pune, four injured
On 24 August , Saturday afternoon A helicopter crashed during heavy rain in Paud area,Maharashtra leaving four people onboard injured.
The Agusta Westland AW139 aircraft departed from Juhu in Mumbai before coming down in Paud, near Hyderabad. Initial reports suggest that there were no fatalities.
Chopper captain Anand suffered injuries during the incident and was transported to Sadar Hospital for medical treatment. Records show that Global Vectra Helicorp was responsible for operating the helicopter.
The crash came during heavy rain and strong wind.
Officials at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued orange alerts for the western Maharashtra districts of Pune and Satara, warning of potential heavy rainfall.
