The 16th "Spasskaya Tower" International Military Music Festival opened Friday at Moscow's Red Square.
One of the evening's highlights was a performance by the Military Band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It featured a march and a rendition of Kalinka, an iconic Russian folk song.
The military music festival will run until September 1. Over the course of 10 evenings, music lovers will witness captivating performances by military bands and creative ensembles from Russia and abroad.
This year, the festival's musical theme is dedicated to the "Defenders of the Motherland."
