This is the heartwarming moment a cobra, with its head stuck in a gas cylinder, was rescued by villagers in India.

A group of kindhearted men freed the distressed snake from the metal canister in Fatehabad, Haryana, on August 24.

Footage shows the rescuers cutting through the propane tank to remove the reptile.

Pawan Jogpal, one of the rescuers, provided water to the weakened animal and treated its wounds by wrapping gauze around them. It was later released back into the forest.

Cobras hold great importance and respect in Hindu culture. They are associated with several deities, including Lord Shiva, who is often depicted with a cobra around his neck. The cobra symbolizes protection and is considered sacred.
