Beijing, China - August 23, 2024

Iran's new defense minister Aziz Nasirzadeh on Thursday stressed the need to enhance national defense capabilities in response to the current threats facing the country.

Besides, Nasirzadeh said Iran will continue to make more progress in the field of defense and deterrence.

The Iranian parliament approved the new cabinet list on Wednesday, appointing Nasirzadeh, former commander of the Iranian Air Force, as the new defense minister.
