USA: Flash Floods Ravage Snow Canyon State Park, Captured in Dramatic Video
Ivins, United States - August 23, 2024
On August 22, 2024, a video posted by Twitter user Bert Berger vividly captured the aftermath of a flash flood at Hackberry Wash within Snow Canyon State Park. The video, taken at 7 AM, showcases a torrent of rainwater transforming a park road into a makeshift river, highlighting the sudden and severe impact of the weather event.
The National Weather Service had previously issued flash flood warnings for the area, predicting heavy rainfall that could lead to significant flooding. True to the forecast, the region experienced over an inch of rain in a short period, leading to life-threatening flash flooding conditions across Washington County, including St. George, Santa Clara, Ivins, and Snow Canyon State Park.
