Brazil is looking into tap into the vast potential of its growing tourism market as it looks to welcome as many as ten million annual visitors by 2027, according to the country's Minister of Tourism.
The tourism industry in Brazil is experiencing a surge, with foreign visitors spending record amounts in the first half of the year, according to official data.
Most visitors come to Sao Paulo, the largest Brazilian city for business. But for those who find some time for leisure, the city's historic Municipal Market is a favorite destination to sample some Brazilian flavors and pick up some local products.
Celso Sabino, Brazil's Tourism Minister, highlighted the promising visitor figures and discussed future prospects for the country's tourism sector in an interview with the China Global Television Network (CGTN) .

"We have a joint tourism promotion agency that registers and licenses travel agencies to sell [to] Brazilian tourists in China and Chinese tourists in Brazil, sanctioned by both governments. We currently have flights with just one stopover, allowing Chinese tourists to reach Brazil and Brazilians to reach China. Just as Brazilians are curious and increasingly visiting China and its various cities, we believe the Chinese are also eager to discover this new world that is Brazil. I have no doubt that the Chinese visitors will not regret experiencing our cuisine and immersing themselves in our culture.";
