This is the incredible moment mountain goats suddenly appeared in front of excited tourists and seemed to fly across the mountainside as if they had wings.

The magical scene unfolded on the outskirts of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, China, on August 18.

Footage shows a single goat emerging and appearing to soar around the mountaintop before vanishing from view.

Seconds later, more goats appeared. After seemingly startled by the tourists' shouting, they changed direction, running down into the valley and swiftly scaling the mountain's opposite side as if propelled by wings.

A tour guide informed the visitors that these mountain animals, also known as bharal or blue sheep, are extremely rare, and he can go a year without seeing any of them.

He noted that it was unclear what startled the goats; it could have been the presence of people or the fear of a nearby predator.
