This spectacular gorge, approximately 15 kilometers long, is carved by the Jinsha River (also known locally as the Golden Sands River), a tributary of the Yangtze River. Tiger Leaping Gorge is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
