Ferris wheel fire injures 23 at festival in Germany
A Ferris wheel fire injured 23 festival-goers in Leipzig, Germany, on August 18.
The blaze started in one gondola and quickly spread to another at the Highfield Festival. Officials said four suffered serious burns and one person was injured in a fall. The others had minor injuries.
The operator of the ferris wheel told local media that no passengers were sitting in the gondola in which the fire started. Police were investigating the cause of the fire.
