This is the heartwarming moment a stranded dog was carried to safety through neck-deep floods.

Members of the Wat Monmai Rescue Association rescued the hapless pooch from the muddy waters in Phrae, Thailand, on August 25.

Footage shows two rescuers moving through the water with the well-behaved canine clinging to one of them. They then carefully transferred the animal to a rubber boat and moved it to a nearby evacuation centre.

Officials said 22 residents have been killed and 19 locals injured in flash floods and landslides caused by heavy monsoon rains across the country.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation confirmed that around 30,000 households have been affected in 13 provinces across the north and south over the past 10 days.
