This is the impressive moment a clever toddler dodged a huge centipede scurrying along the ground.

The girl was swaying on a wooden seesaw horse in her front yard when the arthropod crawled towards her in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on August 20.

Footage shows the child sitting on her toy when she notices the centipede creeping on the floor. She then stands on the seat and watches as the intruder passes by.

She is seen pointing out the myriapod to her father, Nithat Plot Sombun, who then checked where it was hiding.

Nithat said: 'I am so proud of how smart my daughter is. She reacted quickly to prevent herself from getting bitten.'

Research said that despite its low fatality rate, a bite from a centipede can cause headaches, severe pain, local tissue swelling, redness, swollen and painful lymph nodes, palpitations, nausea, vomiting, and anxiety.
