Croatia has experienced a significant surge in Chinese visitors this year with nearly 100,000 Chinese visitors exploring the country's diverse attractions, said Kristjan Stanicic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Croatian): KRISTJAN STANICIC, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board
"To date, nearly 100,000 Chinese tourists have visited Croatia during this tourist season, and we expect that number to increase by the end of the year, given that the Chinese market is highly active all year round.
Chinese tourists are extremely important for Croatian tourism. They travel and are active all year round and their reasons for visiting certain destinations are not limited to the sun and sea.
Instead, they are drawn to year-round tourism activities such as visiting natural sights, seeing cultural landmarks, exploring historical heritage, gastronomy, and everything else that makes Croatia a compelling destination throughout the year."

Stanicic added that Croatia would continue its efforts to woo Chinese tourists by fostering closer cooperation ties with its Chinese partners.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Croatian): KRISTJAN STANICIC, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board
"The Croatian National Tourist Board has been active in the Chinese market for many years. We have a representative office in Shanghai, which is highly engaged in promotional activities alongside Chinese partners in this large and important market.
Our efforts include participating in fairs in Shanghai, organizing a series of workshops with our partners, collaborating with Chinese media, and working with one of the largest global online travel agency platforms, Ctrip, and others.
Additionally, we'll cooperate with airlines to help bring as many Chinese tourists as possible to Croatia in the future."
