Typhoon Shanshan brings flooding and strong winds to Kunisaki City, Japan
On August 29, 2024, Takashi Shigeoka shared a video from Kunisaki City, Oita Prefecture, Japan, showing floodwaters and heavy rain as Typhoon Shanshan approached. Shigeoka noted that his company had evacuated to a nearby temple, bringing ready-made meals and other supplies for distribution, depending on the situation. With the Aki Dam releasing water and the threat of power outages, Shigeoka expressed concern that the river behind his house might flood the first floor with muddy water.
