Sir Tim Martin Wetherspoon's Pub chain Boss, pays surprise visit to "The Towan Blystra" pub in Newquay Cornwall UK

Buy video

Sir Tim Martin of the Wetherspoon pub chain drops by without fuss or indeed any assistants to have a brief chat with the duty manager. Well known for preferring written notes, rather than a laptop computer. Sir Tim is seen meeting, greeting, and taking hints from pub regulars before settling down at a bar table with the duty manager, lucky or unlucky enough, to have been on duty this teatime. The man aims to visit thirteen of his 800 pubs each week. As he owns a holiday home on the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall, this visit is probably made en route from his holiday hideaway to his home in Exeter Devon. As Sir Tim currently owns approx 31 million shares in the chain, the current pricing would make his stake worth £235 million. The "Towan Blystra" is the sole Wetherspoons outlet in the busy tourist town, a second pub "The Cribbar" on Beach road Newquay was sold off several years ago after not meeting sales expectations.
