Moment US rapper Fatman Scoop collapses on stage before dying
Footage shows the moment US rapper Fatman Scoop collapsing mid-sentence on stage during his Connecticut gig before being rushed to hospital.
Screams rang out as the 53-year-old singer fell to the floorafter climbing topless into the DJ booth at the gig in Hamden, Connecticut.
Dressed in just his heavy diamond chain, he was gearing the crowd up for the next song before passing out while slurring the words "let's make some noise". "
'If you came to party,' the rapper said, before taking a long pause and then appearing to lean over.
Witnesses say Fatman, whose real name is Isaac Freeman III, collapsed after performing his hit track Be Faithful.
DJ Binky B and the rest of the performers decided to carry on with the show, revealing at the end that it was to "give medical services time to arrive and leave"."
John Arnold was at the gig enjoying the show when he caught the drama unfold on his phone.
The 28-year-old said: "He was performing on stage well, and after he performed his song Be Faithful he removed his shirt and went behind the DJ booth and fell while speaking."
"No idea on cause, not my place to speculate but he was administered CPR prior to being transferred to a local hospital."
"The show was not immediately cancelled as you can see, the others continue the music. The reason stated at the end of the show by DJ Binky B was that they continued to give time to medical services to arrive and leave without the traffic that would arise from the crowd leaving at once."
Hamden mayor Lauren Garrett stated that Freeman was "transported by ambulance to the hospital." "
Garrett added: "We will provide updates when they are available. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers."
