The event took place at approximately 11:24 AM on August 31st, near the luxurious 1 Hotel at 2341 Collins Ave.
The video, which has quickly circulated on social media, shows the waterspout, a columnar vortex usually appearing over water, swirling majestically against the backdrop of Miami's clear skies. Waterspouts, while not uncommon in Florida's warm coastal waters, are always a sight to behold, drawing attention for their beauty and potential for danger if they move onshore.
Jeff Burrowes, who was at the right place at the right time, commented on his post, "Waterspout off the coast of Miami Beach," providing viewers with a front-row seat to this natural phenomenon. The footage shows the slender, funnel-shaped cloud extending from the water surface to the cloud base, dancing over the ocean for several minutes before dissipating.
