An ongoing military action by Israel in the West Bank has caused harm to Palestinians and sparked concerns about escalating tensions in the region.

The Israeli army began a large-scale military operation in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Tubas camps in the northern West Bank on Wednesday, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources. At least 10 Palestinians were killed by Israeli shelling and gunfire in the northern West Bank.

This military operation is considered by Palestinians as the largest since 2002 and a continuation of the conflict in Gaza Strip.

"It represents a continuation of the persistent aggression against the Palestinian people and an extension of the conflict in Gaza. Israel seeks to achieve the same goal, which is to resolve its conflict with the Palestinian people through military force. The purpose of this military operation is to deprive Palestinians of their national rights, limiting them to certain civil and survival rights instead of their full national rights, such as the right to self-determination, the right to establish a Palestinian state, and the right of refugee return," explained Nihad abu Ghosh, a Palestinian international affairs expert.

Avichai Adraee, spokesman for the Israeli army, stated that Israeli security forces launched the action aimed at countering "terrorism" in these cities. During the operation, the forces killed a number of militants both from the air and on the ground, found weaponry, and arrested suspects.

Palestinian experts have warned that the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the extensive military operations in the West Bank may escalate tensions in the occupied territories and the broader region.

"Israel is attempting to crush the will of the Palestinian people through the crimes it commits, like destroying infrastructure, cutting off water, electricity and essential supplies, pressuring Palestinians, and forcing them into displacement. These are the reasons behind the current situation in the region. But of course, Palestine will not submit, as the people possess a spirit of resistance," said Wassef Erekat, a Palestinian military expert.
