Mother's Rise Up campaign outside Parliament for a fast-and-fair switch to renewable energy
I spoke to Lorna Powell who spoke in the video.
The leaflet they gave me read, "as our children return to school, our parliament and government also begin a new term.
The new Labour government has already lifted the band on onshore wind and committed to creating Great British energy, a publicly owned clean energy company. Mothers rise up celebrates these announcements as an encouraging and positive step for our planet.
We also know how much work is left to do. Remaining British oil fields like rosebank need to stay untapped. More oil and gas won't lower bills or increase energy security, it will only boost profits for the world's most polluting companies. The green energy transition needs to be ambitious, fast and fair for communities across the UK.
Children in the UK and globally are already suffering as a result of the climate crisis. The coming months and years will define the future of our planet. Mother's rise up will be pushing our governments and corporations to take bold ambitious action for our climates, delivered before it's too late.
