Finger Lakes, New York: Perseid meteor shower turns into unexpected red Aurora sighting
Drew stepped outside to catch the Perseid meteor shower, but what unfolded before his eyes was a breathtaking surprise.
"Once my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I noticed the sky was a bright red color, so I ran to get my camera and tripod to capture it," Drew told WooGlobe. "The Aurora was actually visible to my eyes once my night vision kicked in."
He added that he was delighted to witness the vibrant spectacle in all its glory, as he usually has to deal with clouds obstructing the view during space weather events.
