Police raided a shopping mall reportedly selling fake brand name goods in Thailand.

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) descended on 11 stores and a warehouse at the MBK Centre in Bangkok on August 27.

The shops were said to have been selling counterfeit branded products, including perfumes, watches, glasses, and luxury bags like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, and Dior.

DSI Deputy Director-General Police Lieutenant Colonel Phayao Thongsen said more than 20,000 items worth around 20 million THB (444,951 GBP) were seized.

He said: 'These actions are in accordance with the policy of Police Lieutenant Colonel Yuthana Phraedam, Acting Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, for the Intellectual Property Case Division to crack down on trademark violations in Thailand. We aim to improve Thailand's ranking in the suppression of intellectual property violations.'
