Storyline:
The three China-proposed initiatives on development, security and culture have played a crucial role in promoting peace and development on the African continent, Kenyan President William Ruto said.

Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Development Initiative in 2021, followed by the Global Security Initiative in 2022 and the Global Civilization Initiative in 2023, outlining blueprints for addressing global challenges and promoting peace and stability, economic growth as well as cultural exchanges.

In an interview with the China Global Television Network (CGTN) before departing for Beijing to attend the upcoming 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Ruto spoke highly of the constructive role the initiatives have played in promoting African continent's peace and development, and vowed to step up efforts to implement the initiatives.

Ruto arrived in Beijing on Monday to attend the 2024 FOCAC summit which will be held from Wednesday to Friday under the theme "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future."

President Xi will deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the summit on Thursday.
