This is the dramatic moment a truck was swept away by raging floods in northern India.

Footage shows a line of vehicles cautiously navigating the deluge when one truck on the Ahmedabad-Kutch Highway, Gujarat, suddenly fell into the floodwaters on August 29.

Authorities confirmed that the goods truck driver managed to exit the vehicle and is reported to be safe.

The flooding, triggered by a deep depression over Kutch, has also caused significant waterlogging in areas such as Babavadi, Rameshwar Zupadpatti, and Jogivas Salaya.

Heavy rains continue to impact Gujarat, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in various locations. Since August 25, floods have resulted in at least 40 deaths and displaced around 55,000 locals across 25 districts.
