This is the shocking moment a snake bit a woman's foot as she walked through steps through a park in Myanmar.

The serpent was lying under a large tree root but Nan Aye Ywe, 25, did not notice it while she was walking uphill in Shan State on August 25.

Footage shows the black reptile emerging and lunging at Nan's leg. It sank its teeth into Nan's left shoe which made her jump.

She quickly shook it off, and the animal left. Her friends helped her check the bite.

Nan said: ‘The bite was not very painful because it was not deep. It was also not venomous.'

The snake is believed to be a non-venomous Indochina rat snake. They do not possess enough toxins to harm a human but they are highly aggressive and will strike when they feel threatened.
