STORYLINE:
The 32nd International Defense Industry Exhibition opened on Tuesday in Kielce, a city in southern Poland.
The exhibition brought together 711 companies, including 350 Polish companies.
Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the signing of new defense contracts worth about 516 million U.S. dollars during the exhibition.
"These are also significant contracts ... involving both public, state-owned, and private Polish companies," said the deputy prime minister.
The exhibition will run until Friday.
