STORYLINE:
On Tuesday, King Abdullah II of Jordan inaugurated in Aqaba the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) 2024, which saw the participation of 73 countries.
The three-day event brings together 300 defense industry companies, as well as officials and military officers from various countries, the Royal Hashemite Court said in a statement. The theme of the event is "Cooperation and Convergence to Strengthen Global Security."
SOFEX 2024 also includes the second edition of the Levitate exhibition, which focuses on drones and unmanned aerial systems.
During the event, King Abdullah II attended a special exercise conducted by the King Abdullah II Royal Special Forces Group at the Aqaba International Exhibition and Convention Center. He also toured the exhibition to see the latest advancements in defense and security technologies.
Founded in 1996, SOFEX is a biennial event held in Jordan.
