Chinese staff accidentally slipped and scalded after rushing to turn off ran off water heater
On August 28, a waiter in a restaurant in Chengdu, southern China, was badly scalded after he slipped and fell while trying to turn off the water dispenser after it failed to be turned off in time, causing the floor to become slippery due to the continuous outflow of hot water.
Surveillance footage showed that during the restaurant's operation, a drinking machine was not turned off due to customer negligence, and hot water continued to flow out, and formed a slippery area on the ground. After a waitress found out, she rushed forward and tried to shut down the drinking machine to prevent the hot water from continuing to flow out and create a greater safety risk. However, because the ground was too wet, the attendant lost his balance during the operation and slipped. The heater tipped over, pouring hot water directly over her.
After the accident, the restaurant immediately organized personnel to send the injured waiter to the hospital for treatment, and covered all medical expenses. After the doctor's diagnosis, the attendant left obvious burn scars behind the ear and other parts, and it will take some time to recover. In order to protect the rights and interests of the waitress, the restaurant also gave her 10 days of paid leave so that she can fully rest and recover.
