Two decommissioned Thai Royal Navy ship were sunk to create artificial reefs.

The navy commander-in-chief, Admiral Adung Phaniam, presided over the sinking ceremony in Chonburi province, Thailand, on September 3.

Footage shows war patrol boat Tor.94 slowly descending underwater off the coast of Koh Chuang island.

Aside from Tor.94, patrol boat Tor.95 was also sank. Both were part of Tor.91 class patrol boats built between 1967 and 1987 and were decommissioned on 2019.

The warships would become man-made reefs of an underwater learning park.

Officials said the park will serve as a tribute to naval heroes and a new tourist attraction for divers.

Indy Freedive Samaesarn Snorkeling teacher Captain Nui said: ‘The ships were sunk to serve as an underwater learning resource, a fish home, a coral reef anchor, and a tourist attraction.'
