Footage shows the adorable rodent with black and white fur sitting on a leaf as it ran its tongue all over its body in Punjab, India, on August 30.

It came amid heavy rain that has been battering India in recent weeks, leading to monsoon floods that have killed dozens and displaced hundreds of thousands more.

Earlier this week, India's weather office said a deep depression of weather formed over land and is gradually moving northwest over the Arabian Sea, causing intense rainfall.

The Indian Air Force used drones and helicopters to drop food and relief aid to affected residents during rescue operations.

Officials at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said this year has seen one of the most severe monsoon seasons in recorded history.
