Huge tree uprooted by storm in northern Thailand
A huge tree was uprooted during a rainstorm in northern Thailand.
The 60-year-old banyan tree at Wat Khlong Krum School was battered by strong gusts of wind amid the heavy downpour in Rayong on August 29.
Footage shows the tree falling to the ground and onto the roof of one of the buildings as the rain pours. The railings were severely damaged in the disaster.
The incident occurred while students were inside classrooms, resulting in one individual being injured.
The wall separating the temple from the school is also reported to be damaged.
The Thailand Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasted that some parts of the country would experience fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain.
