A tourist damaged a hair salon and tried to resist arrest by fleeing onto a road in Thailand.

The 38-year-old Indian national rampaged into the shop wearing only shorts and barefoot in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 3 afternoon.

He went to the bathroom and took a black plastic bag which he wore around his shoulders before thrashing the things inside.

Police came for him but he tried to evade them by running into the road outside, prompting at least six officers to help restrain him.

Footage shows the man being held by authorities as he tries to shake them off. He was taken to the police station, where he reportedly stripped naked.

An arresting officer from Pathumwan Police Station said they have contacted the man's relatives and friends, but no one has come forward.

He said: ‘He said he works as a housekeeper for a Turkish national here.'

Officers said the tourist will be remanded in custody during the investigation as the salon owner has yet to file an official complaint.
