A terrified student managed to film as they cowered in their classroom during a shooting at a school in Georgia, US, that left four people dead.

Alantis Hunter was in a film and history class at Apalachee High School when she heard gunshots in the building.

She told Newsflare: "The situation was heartbreaking and almost unreal. I had a really bad adrenaline rush and almost froze in time, praying that I would make it through. Fortunately I did but prayers for everyone who didn’t.

"The shots were loud and violent. It rang through the halls and made everyone jump and run. It’s a very confusing situation from so many different conclusions on the situation, but it was overall traumatising for all.

"When leaving, I passed a dead body. I’ve seen many videos and I never would’ve expected this to happen at our school. Now, i feel uneasy and still shook. It doesn’t feel real at all, and I still cry about it even though I survived the hard part. Now I have to survive the mental problems that come along with being a survivor."

A 14-year-old suspect named Colt Gray was arrested and will be prosecuted as an adult according to reports.

Officials have identified those who died as students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and teachers Christina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall.
