After four hours of intense firefighting, the blaze at the 15-storey Times Tower building in Mumbai’s Lower Parel area was finally contained, authorities said on Friday.

The fire broke out in the building located at the Kamala Mills compound at around 6.30 am, the official said. The fire brigade had declared it a level 2 (major) fire and sent eight fire engines and other fire fighting vehicles to the spot. There has been no report of any casualty.

According to the civic officials, the fire started from the electrical duct and was confined between the seventh and third floor of the fifteen-storey building. “Five fire engines and seven jumbo tankers were pressed into operation,” the officials informed.
