Line Fire exceeds 500 acres in San Bernardino County

More than 250 fire personnel battled the 505-acre Line Fire Friday as temperatures climbed toward triple digits in San Bernardino County. There was no containment of the blaze in the Highland area, says local reports Agencies responding included Cal Fire's San Bernardino-Inyo-Mono Unit, the city of Highland and the San Bernardino National Forest, which is about 20 miles east of the fire. The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. Thursday as a vegetation blaze near Baseline and Aplin streets in Highland. The blaze grew to 505 acres overnight, Cal Fire said. The fire is east of Weaver Street on the eastern outskirts of Highland, according to a Cal Fire map. It's north of Greenspot Road. The cause is being investigated, Cal Fire said.
