"I could buy a house but I don't want to - renting gives me much more freedom"
A young woman has vowed not to bow to pressure of having to buying her own home - because renting gives her more freedpm.
Natalia Czech, 34, has been renting all her life and has no plans to buy a property despite being able to afford to do so.
Natalia believes that remaining off the property ladder allows her more freedom in life and suits her lifestyle better.
She and her husband Dominik Sawoska, 35, value being able to move around whenever they like, be that for work or personal reasons.
Natalia, who works in the building industry, said: "My husband and I could save for a deposit in about 10 months but we don't want to."
"Renting just gives me so much freedom and better opportunities."
"We can rent a place that's probably nicer than a place we could buy and we don't have to worry about needing to move for a job opportunity."
Instead of spending months saving up for a deposit, the couple prefer enjoying day-to-day luxuries in life including holidays.
Natalia said: "I typically go to six to nine holidays or city breaks a year."
"I recently flew to Munich to Adele's concert and I'm staying in the south of France next weekend for my main two-week holiday."
"I also eat out most of the weekends and treat myself from time to time with some more expensive stuff."
Natalia moved out of her childhood home near Wroclaw, Poland, at the age 19 and has lived in eight different rented properties over the last 15 years.
She settled in the UK seven years ago and has rented two places ever since she moved.
Natalia, who lives on the outskirts of Cambridge, said: "We've lived a few different places together."
"We rented a place in Norwich for three years and then moved to Cambridge because it was better for work."
"If a job opportunity comes up in London, I like knowing that I can move there hassle-free - if I want to."
"We also have plans to travel and explore other countries, which is a lot easier when you're renting."
Natalia has also enjoyed not having the responsibility and anxiety she feels homeowners usually deal with.
Being able to rely on a landlord to sort any issues in her home is also what motivates her to continue renting.
Natalia said: "In all the places I've rented, I've found that any problems with the home like rude neighbours or dirty walls don't bother me as much."
"People treat their bought property like it's so precious because they spent so much money on it."
"But it's not in my interest to save and spend money on a nice table."
"Instead, I prefer to buy a treat for myself, like a pair of shoes."
"We had the fence replaced in our garden last year also earlier this year we had the boiler replaced as it broke down."
"They always take care of any issue we have really."
"We also have the gardener who our landlord pay for."
