Residents of Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency, Lampung, Indonesia, were shocked by the discovery of a dolphin carcass on the edge of Mutiara Baru Beach, on Sunday, September 08, 2024.

This dolphin was first discovered by local fishermen when returning from fishing. When found, the mammal with a length of about 2 meters was already in a carcass condition.

One of the residents, Buyut, said that the residents had buried the dolphin carcass on the beach so as not to pollute the environment and cause odors. It is suspected that the dolphin died because it was stranded after being rolled by the waves to the shoreline, due to the bad weather that occurred in recent days.
