This is the shocking moment a huge python slithers out of a bathroom toilet in Russia.

The 6ft reptile was discovered on the bathroom floor by horrified owners who immediately called emergency services in Krasnodar on September 5.

When firefighters arrived, the snake had hidden behind a washing machine.

Footage shows one firefighter using extending tongs to grasp the snake while another holds open a bag to trap it.

Just moments before capture, the snake lashes out and attempts to bite one of the emergency workers before being secured in the bag.

Although pythons are not venomous, their bites can be painful and cause infection.

Experts from the Ministry of Emergency Situations believe the snake escaped from another apartment and used sewage pipes to reach the third-floor flat.

The python is believed to have been taken to a zoo wildlife centre until its owner can be located.
