A determined schoolgirl clung to her phone for 350 metres as thieves dragged her along the road.

Laxmi, 18, was riding home with her sister when she noticed three men on a motorcycle following them in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, on September 8.

Footage shows the victim holding onto her phone while being pulled along by the men speeding away with the item. This caught the attention of neighbours, prompting them to run towards the girl.

The suspects eventually escaped with the phone, which they successfully snatched from the student.

Laxmi, from the Garden Colony area of the city, said: 'The wounds will heal, but the snatchers took away the phone my parents bought with their hard-earned money. I was proud to have a new smartphone.'

The teenager sustained injuries and had her clothes torn during the scuffle.

This incident occurred just two days after another college student was targeted by snatchers on Ladowali Road.
