SOUNDBITE (Chinese): TAGBA CHOZIN, Deputy Director of the Cultural and Tourism Bureau of Seni District, Nagqu City
"The integration of elements here includes water ripples from areas south of the Yangtze River and the petals of the galsang flower of Xizang, which we can see at the top.
The assistance team for Zhejiang Province conducted research in the Seni District of Nagqu City. They discovered that there was no public cultural infrastructure, such as libraries and bookstores, in this district. They then drew on cultural characteristics from Hangzhou (in Zhejiang) and developed the world's highest urban library.
The next step for us is to promote our city library through a variety of rich and diverse activities, and transform it into the first city library in Nagqu with excellent services, a beautiful setting, and high visual appeal."
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Nagqu, China.
