A heavily tattooed woman dubbed ‘Dragon Girl’ has revealed the final results of her anticipated procedure.
Amber Luke recently shocked people after revealing her plans for new eyeball ink – despite going blind the first time around.
In a bid to try again, the model, 29, has put her fears aside; travelling over 24 hours from her hometown, Brisbane, Australia to São Paulo, Brazil for the controversial procedure on 18 May 2024.
In a clip posted on Instagram, racking up 147,000 views and over 4,000 likes, she shows off her new bright blue eyes, speckled with black.
“For me, it was about taking back what’s mine and was supposed to be mine in the first place,” Amber told What'sTheJam.
“I felt robbed and like I didn’t deserve a proper procedure.
“But I do deserve to have my moment, where I open my eyes and see true beauty.
“I nearly cried of happiness when I saw them this time and that’s exactly how it should’ve been originally.
“It’s something I can appreciate for the rest of my life now.”
Amber, who was previously left without sight for three weeks, went to renowned tattoo artist, Gattoo Moreno for the procedure.
While fearful after the last mishap, she ensured to take the necessary precautions to avoid this again.
She said: “I did all the checklists and went to the same optometrists I went to a year after my first eyeball tattoo [who told me] I was botched.
“They checked my eyes thoroughly with coloured dyes too and [found] absolutely no signs of scar tissue.”
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many people left in awe.
“Wooo you’re tough girl! Didn’t know you could mix the colours like that,” Madison said. [sic]
Hannah added: “They look painted! That’s amazing.”
“So iconic. Looks like a galaxy,” another user commented.
“This must feel so amazing for you!! Finally getting the experience you wanted and being able to put that traumatic experience in the past,” someone else added.
Jules said: “Looks so cool. I’m glad you’ve had a better experience this time (with not going temp blind). Keep doing u girl.” [sic]
Amber, who doesn’t wish to disclose the cost, says the process took 20 minutes using a syringe with vegan ink, that’s slowly injected sclera – white part – of the eyes.
However, it wasn’t easy for her to come to terms with.
She said: “If you blink or move when that needle is in your eyeball, you can go permanently blind.
“It was crucial for me to breathe through the procedure, as I was experiencing severe trauma and PTSD.
“It was so difficult to remain still with so much raging through my brain, but I’m beyond proud of myself for taking this situation back.
“The first procedure was hands down the most excruciating pain I’ve ever been through.
“[But] the second one; absolutely no pain and that is how it’s supposed to be.”
Now, 48 hours after the procedure, she’s thriving with the results.
Amber added: “I couldn’t have asked for a better body modification artist to lead me through this daunting journey.
“I’ve finally achieved what I deserved after seven years.”
